Brett Michel joined the RVCC management team in March of 2021 as our Director of Racquets. He has been involved in the tennis industry since 1988. He is USPTR certified Professional level since 1991.
Brett began his teaching career at the Twin Oaks Tennis and Fitness Center, becoming Tennis Director at the club in 1999. He remained at the club in the Director’s role until 2010. After leaving Twin Oaks, Brett taught indoors at The Columbia Racquet Club in Florham Park, Centercourt in Chatham, and Murray Hill Tennis and Fitness in New Providence. He held the position of Junior Team Director and Ladies Team professional at the Noe Pond Club in Chatham from 2010-2018. Brett then moved on to become Director of Tennis at the Clearwater Swim Club in New Providence for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. He is currently the Head Varsity Tennis Coach for the Boys’ and Girls’ programs at the Morristown-Beard School. Brett played collegiate tennis at Drew University, where he graduated with a BA in history in 1991. He achieved rankings of #34 in the USTA Eastern Men’s Open Division in 2000, and was #2 in the USTA Eastern Men’s 25’s Division that same year. Brett lives in Randolph with his wife Elissa, his children, Molly and Ian, and their dogs, Abby and Zack.
