Miles Harris joined the RVCC team as Head Golf Professional in March of 2018. He is a native North Carolinian and a graduate of Appalachian State University. Miles was born and raised in Gastonia and took up the game of golf at age 10. As a junior, Miles sought instruction from local PGA Master Professional Bruce Sudderth and furthered his education on the game with coaching from PGA tour winner Phil Krick Sr.

Miles was the Head Golf Professional of Cramer Mountain Country Club from 2006-2009. During his tenure at Cramer Mountain, Miles competed in numerous Tarheel Tour events. He was an integral part of the BallenIsles Country Club professional staff from 2012-2015; where he honed his skills as an instructor by making use of JC video, V1 swing analysis software, and Flightscope launch monitors. Most recently (2015-2018) serving as St. James Plantation’s Head Professional.

Miles is a PGA Certified Professional, a designation held by less than 5% of all PGA professionals. He continues to play and compete in PGA section/chapter events, and regularly attends seminars to expand his knowledge of instruction and teaching methods. Miles’ instruction philosophy follows the PGA model of the 5 ball flight laws. He teaches and coaches “impact based” swing philosophy, essentially performance tuning his students existing swing. “If the ball flight is consistent and correct, then there is no need for major overhauls to obtain a certain look or aesthetic.”

We are pleased to have Miles as part of Raritan Valley’s management team.
